Registering/running a business legally in Taiwan

Just to reiterate. Joeg3s question was:

"Just been considering whether to try and set up a small business. Does anyone know the logistics for this. Is there a certain amount of money needed to be shown as capital so you can register a business? Can a foreigner own the whole thing, or do they need Taiwanesse partners? (Can being married help) -:TAKE THIS BIT WITH A PINCH OF SALT )you with setting up a business? How?

Come on I know there’s people with businesses out there. What’s the story behind it?

DOES ANY HAVE AN ANSWER OR PRACTICAL ADVICE TO THIS VERY INTERESTING QUESTION?

It’s been asked and answered on this site in the business & money forum. For most people, if you have to ask here for free, then you probably don’t have enough money to capitalize a business in Taiwan. You can’t do a business incorporation in Taiwan “on the cheap” so to speak like you can say in the US (give them a credit card number and voila, you’ve incorporated a business).

We have two companies that advertise on Forumosa that do help people incorporate businesses in Taiwan, Enspyre and ML McLean. Call them.
