Rental contract english/chinese question

Is it true that the English version of the rental contract may not be considered legally valid?

For those of you who have previous experience with this, did you just sign the Chinese version of the contract, after consulting the English version - or how is this typically done?

it’s typically like that with any contract drawn up in two languages, that one of them is stated to prevail in case of doubt or dispute
