I am quit new to Taiwan, but I will be frequently here in the future.
The last weekend I rent a road bike in Taipeh, that was ok so far.
Normally I am working in Zhubei/Hsinshu. I have still not find a bike rental shop outside Taipeh that speaks English.
Has somebody a tip for me to find alternative shops outside Taipeh.

I know the Giant shops rent bikes. I would imagine you will need help if you can’t speak Mandarin, though. And it’s not cheap from what I remember reading.
Zhubei Giant 03-5512907 Nice Owner speaks English. Small shop.
I’d say that most people staying in Taiwan for more than a couple of weeks either buy a (often cheap or cheapish) bike or just rely on YouBike.
Maybe also an option to consider.

I got a road bike with flat bars. Which model it is exactly, I do not remember. If the weather is ok this weekend, I will rent a bike again, then I can deliver the information. Reservation via website did not work for me, I never got a response. I visited the shop in Zhubei and that worked perfectly. Greetings Stephan
Better to go in person. I don’t trust or use sites I can’t read. Cuts out fraud.
A few shops before the Giant is a MetroOasis which is one of the better outdoor stores I’ve found in the area. Continental Ultra sport 3 tires work for me.
I’m looking at Giant endurance bikes. That’s why I asked.
I think it was not an endurance bike. The selection is very limited, especially when you are tall. The biggest one they have is M. One the Giant homepage is written that small shops can get bikes from larger ones. Have not asked yet. This weekend the weather is too wet for me, so I decided to focus on running and swimming.
The weather has been better than expected. Do I rent a bike for today. It is a Giant Escape. Cheers Stephan
