Renting a Room with Residence Visa

Hi,

I am a student who will be pursuing my master’s program in Taiwan this September. I will be arriving Taiwan with a residence visa following which I need to apply for an ARC online within 30 days. However, the online application for ARC require you to submit a copy of the housing contract. My question is will I be able to rent a place with a residence visa as soon as I arrive Taiwan. Otherwise how am I suppose to upload the housing contract or agreement?

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Shouldn’t be an issue, usually. Landlords in Taiwan care less about documents and more about receiving rent and deposit on time.

And if they’re used to renting to foreigners, they might have already gone through the process before.

You can even pay the first month’s rent by credit card.
