Replacement blades for electric razor?

I’m hoping that someone knows of a little shop somewhere that has every type of generic replacement electric razor blade known to man. Or thereabouts. I’ve got an old Norelco that needs new blades. Three round heads. (You can’t sharpen those, can you?)

This is the kind of crap that I think about when I can’t fall asleep at 1am. :unamused:

I use Phillips. Their replacement are availible at most electronics stores:

I recall the Daichi store I sometimes go to has or can get replacement parts no problem.

But who needs them anyway … grow a beard … or shave wet

Can’t help you I’m afraid, seeker4, but I’ll keep an eye out. I used to use an elecric razor, and replaced the blades and the foil once. Replacing them cost me almost the same price as a new razor :noway:

Anyway, I accidentally plugged it into 240V while it was set to 110V, just after I replaced the parts (oops). It worked for about 10 seconds before it literally melted in my hands. No more electric razors after that, lol. I can’t be trusted with them. Of course razor blades I can be trusted with :unamused: .

Thanks. Yeah, you seem to have your hands full struggling with AAA batteries. Real electricity straight from the wall is sure to be dangerous!

  1. Beard: Still gotta shave.
  2. What’s a “Daichi”?

My shaver is at least 10 years old, but I hate to throw it in the trash just because I can’t find blades. It is showing signs of advanced arthritis however.

Are these the guys you’re looking for seeker4:

Big 3C store that I go to in Taoyuan. I presume it is a chain store but I don’t know where any others are.

If that’s the same 3C with black letters on yellow background then there is a big one at the Xinyi-Guangfu corner and a smaller one on Xinyi just west of Fuxing.

Yes, they appear to be the same ones. Do you know if they available in Taiwan?

On the 3C store, are you all talking about the 3C store that is a computer store? Or its sister store that carries household items like fans, washers, ovens, etc? Or something else entirely?

The ones I mentioned have both computers and also household stuff. The Guangfu one looks like a computer store from the street but there’s other goods on the upper floor.

tkec?

Jebus! I feel so ignorant. What’s a “tkec”?

Nope, but i’ll be on the look-out for them.

Sorry, seeker4, tkec is the big yellow store you see everywhere with 3C written on it in big letters. It also says “www.tkec.com.tw”. In fact you can look up their website.

Irishstu: Thanks. Just after I posted that tkec question, I wandered over to the local 3C store. As I walked it, I looked up and saw the “www.tkec.com.tw”. Had to laugh. “Oh, that’s a tkec”. I knew it was vaguely familiar for some reason.

About the blades: Thanks for the help so far. 3C has replacement blades, but they appear to only carry blades for Philips brand shavers. However, they look to be made to some standard and so may fit other shavers. But at NT $500 per head for a 3-head shaver, I’m pausing.

They have a neat little 2-head Philips shaver on sale for NT $650 or so. The catch is, it is AA battery-powered only (2). No cord. I saw the cro-magnon version of that shaver years ago. Nifty, but more of a toy than a shaver.

Does anyone have experience with a recently-made, battery-only electric razor? I’m wondering about stuff like power and useful battery life.

Yeah, exactly my response when I had to replace mine. Imagine my annoyance when the thing broke for unrelated reasons just after I did decide to fork out for the parts :noway: .
