Roboman waiter-server at Lees hotel Kao, anywhere else

Saw the Roboman servant bring food to tables this weekend, anybody else see this in Taiwan, I guess Roboman servants will replace human labour.

I saw a similar one at the Ding Tai Fung in 101, but not nearly as cute as yours.

They’re funny but they’re taking away my opportunities to keep my Chinese abilities well oiled.

Same shit with the restaurants that force me to use QR codes to order. Like. Wtf. My phone is mandatory to eat now?

You can practice your reading and see if you get what you wanted. (haha, and can understand the interesting names sometimes)

Not really. Everything already bilingual.

I just leave at those places and I am sure they do not care. I do wonder what I will do when everything requires scanning a QR code.

There is a stronghold of people here that believe QR codes are the solution to every problem in the universe.

I’m gonna start walking into restaurants without a phone.

That thing has been there years and doesn’t actually do anything if it is the same one I’m thinking of.

Pull out a Nokia 3210 and watch their faces

My wife felt that way at a small coffee shop. She went to counter to order. They told her she needed to download their app to order. The app had trouble downloading…waiting and waiting…just could not get the app to download. The wife pushed them to let her order at the counter…they finally relented. I mean…four cups of coffee with so much pain to order.

Starting to really hate some service methods. Huge menu but all items must use your phone or pad to order by paging through trying to find what you want. Want some utensils? They will point out the area for you to go pick up your fork and spoon. Refreshments? Same situation. Finished eating? Well, please bring your plates to the washing area. If I was hoping to eat cheaply then okay…but these places I have been to are not cheap. That is like the steak house I went to in Singapore where you cook your own steak. They served no cooked food…only provided some accompanying bread and salad. Not cheap. If I wanted to cook my own steak I would do so at home.

Frank’s Texas BBQ, out past Tamsui in Sanzhi, was using the robot waiter thing when I was there in August.

Yeah I hate ordering by qr code. It sucks overall.

I refuse. Always support human jobs

If need a computer to order, demand their staff come out and do. Sorry if they dont like it, but it is giving them an income. fuck this auto shit that makes some dude richer while people lose work. one of those things customers still can make a difference with, on scale. At least as long as no socialism plan is available.
