However, a friend of mine is doing some research on this and needs a more formal legal reference.
Can anyone provide a reference to this “ROC Nationality Law (English language version)” in some formal legal book? He would need the name of the book, who compiled it, publisher and when published, ISBN number (if available), the page numbers in the book where the “ROC Nationality Law” is given, etc. … and all such details suitable for making a reference in his research report.
If photocopies of the “title page,” publisher’s information, etc. were available, I could provide a local Taipei FAX number here to where they could be faxed.

I got a book from the Census Bureau in the Ministry of Interior. It’s out of date as it was for pre 2000 rules. I needed that for my renunciation for the Australian Government. I guess you could contact them and see if they still issue them. Actually now that I think about it it may have been in Chinese… but it’s a start.
Either that site or lawbank.com.tw/ have a wealth of information on ROC laws, many with English translations. In any case, the law.moj.gov.tw site would probably work as a reference.
