You expect punk bands to be pissed at the Man ?that’s the whole point. But when a compilation CD aimed squarely at the Oval Office can bring together voices as diverse as industrial hillbillies Ministry, schoolyard pop brats Sum 41 and Woody Guthrie heir Billy Bragg, you know something’s up. Not all the songs here are explicit shots at George W., and not all are these bands’ best work. But with 18 new or unreleased tracks, including stadouts from Alkaline Trio (“Warbrain”), The Offspring (“Baghdad”) and The Frisk (“Basket Of Snakes”), this is compilation is more than worthy ?it’s important for the unapologetic bluntness of its accusation.
