This old dude is actually thinking about going this year. I havent seen it in a theater since I belonged to a shadow cast in the early 1980s. I’m curious to compare the audience participation here vs. the west.
There will be no ticket sales at the theater.
Tickets are NT$650 each and only available on KKtix.
Thanks for highlighting that! I just bought my ticket.
And against my better judgment, here’s a photo from 1982 when I was doing the RHPS thing. I played Rocky, the guy on the far left. Feel free to rip on me ![]()
Is that a banana in your shorts?
Ha, I still can’t believe I used to have the nerve to wear this costume (and fishnet stockings & high heels in another scene) every Saturday in front of an entire audience. My mom actually made the golden speedos for me! She and my dad always wanted to go see us perform, but since it started at midnight they always claimed to be too tired. Now that I’m ancient I totally understand.
This is so cool!! You have my absolute respect now ![]()
I’d like to check this out. I won’t arrive in Taiwan until 10/24; will that be too late to get tickets? I’m not sure I can do it from the US.
Welcome back! Maybe I’ll see you at the show. This is my first time going so I don’t know if it gets sold out. I took a look at their Facebook page photos and it seemed like there were empty seats on the night of their shows, so you’re probably fine. Maybe ask through their FB?
How’s your snatch? Clean and jerk? Your dynamic tension?
It’s just a jump to the left…
Whoa…you know you are old when you really have to concentrate to remember the year you used to visit the midnight showing…and I am still not sure what year it was…
Early 1980s for me…as sad as that is
Late 80’s Balboa Cinema, Huntington Beach. I think.. hazy days.
How did you get into the movie theatre if you were around 5 years old? (making big assumption here)
70’s here.
Dammit Janet!
Late 70s/early 80s for me, not exactly sure. Was a kid, and mom dragged me to the local art house cinema.
“I remember, doing the Time Warp!”
I think I love you, Flakman.
Get in line babe…get in line.
