Hi, I have been looking for a running club in Taipei but with no luck ( possibly because I can’t read Chinese ? ) , I live near Xiobitan. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful.
I have been out with the Harriers , and whilst fun it’s not what I am looking for in this instance
I have not run since end of June, or since getting here. I would expect to be up to 13 miles in 6-8 weeks at a 9 minute mile time. Or at least in the Uk weather etc that’s what I would expect.
Sounds like we do similar mileage and pace! If you wanna go for a run some time just PM me. I’m not training for anything in particular. My wife and I signed up for Taroko half but I will be her “pacer” as it will be her first half.
I am looking for running club/mates around Zhongzheng district. I would be very happy if you had any suggestions. I called to the CTRRA office, but with no success.
Thanks&cheers!
There’s an FB group “Taipei Mommy Runners” which is open to anyone, really, it is just that it was started by moms looking at getting back into running. There are women there running half and full marathons, and others just starting a walk/run program. You can send a request to join the group and then just post your interests.
They only do a proper hash run once a month, so I bet a lot of them go running between those events. Anyway, they’d be able to give you some good info on routes and such.
Where can one find information about races in Taiwan? I wouldn’t be up for a half marathon yet, but something like a 10K, or even a 5K would be right up my alley right about now. If you know, or anyone else, please let me and everyone else know. Thank you.
Looks like they don’t have that many events for 2013 yet. I am assuming that they do a lot of last minute stuff and that the 2013 calender will fill out as nicely as the 2012 calender they have on here.
The next two races aren’t very convienient dates. The one in February is the Lantern Festival Day and the one in March is on St. Patrick’s Day! I’ll be out of town and shit faced drunk, respectively for those.
