Looks that way last few days no lights, nothing.
Jesus people, I am trying to update a bloody guidebook for this city.
I thought you’d have been glad. There’s less work for you to do every week.

Yeah, but I still have the same word count. There are only so many “undiscovered gems” out there.

Wu Gu Poem No.23 1957 by the late Chen Bin Lang
Who Gu?
Wu Gu!
Woo Goo?
Wu Gu!
We all love Moo Goo!
Yea it definitely has that eerie ghost town look about it now.
Maybe the result of another landlord doubling the rent.
Man the whole Anhe area is losing Western type bars, clubs and lounges except for bobwundaye. But gaining more Japanese and local bars. Wonder how long Carnegies can last. The one in Singapore had to close when the club area starting moving to other locations.
It’s no real great loss is it? Place had been dead for years.
I wonder (and this relates to teh Tavern’s demise too) how much the availability of live sports on the interwebs and thru MOD etc. has affected sports bars in Taipei.
I went over there once or twice in January, both times thinking it was closed because from the outside it appeared dark. But on the third time I ventured closer and, lo, it was open. Not too crowded though. Couple of guys playing pool in the back, matched by an equal number of waiters. Met some friends inside, but it never filled up.
Did you try the door? Or is it really empty?
Both places are most definitely closed for business. The Saints and Sinners location is being gutted at the moment, though, which suggests something else will be popping up soon.
It’s now a Korean restaurant if anyone is interested.
Overpriced expat wankfest lamery doesn’t work in a town with very few over-paid expats.
How about a whingy English teacher spot with Tai-piss on tap at pennies a jug.
Booby! aka T-I-T aka this is Taipei
I walked into the Tavern a few years ago and saw the TVs strewn all over the walls. Sophisticated I thought. :roflmao:

That’s a great idea! Kind of like a dive bar for hard core drinkers whose savings have run out!
