It is a bit more of a challenge, since the words could potentially be selected from any academic discipline, although they seem, so far, to be drawn mostly from the natural sciences.

Edited to add (in the “you do you” department): I think reusing an excluded letter has accidentally helped on at least one occasion, by revealing other letters. I don’t want to discourage anyone from using their own judgment.

The words base is the most commonly found in scholar texts, not necessarily scientific or technical terms. I don’t see any problem with that.
