I bought a scooter in Taiwan. When i want to change the tire a single tire was costing me around 3k ntd? but the same tire could be bought online for 1k ntd. I bought the tire online and took my scooter to many shops and asked them replace the tire. but many scooter shops said no even i was willing to pay 1k for their services. They said they dont offer this service i was like why dont you? so i am really confused as in anyother country they accept what you bring and they charge you only for their services. Can anyone guide why is this a problem in taiwan?
Have a local friend try the same thing.
Otherwise,might be a policy of not being responsible for a tire you bought online exploding/having a blowout and then you sue them.
This is like buying a cheap road bike online and taking it to a bike shop to be set up. Just don’t do it.
You put a bad example there. Anyways, a shop changed the tire and they were not afraid of the tire exploding as it was a branded tire from a good company.
3k is way too much. Last time i did it, it was a choice between an 800 nt tire and a 1000 nt one.
That was a couple of years ago. Maybe 1000 and 1200 now.
sorry, I forgot to mention the tire is bigger one. Like the size is 130/70 -13 which is big tire for scooter. so 3k is still expensive for it as the shops have a big margin if they sell their own tires.
