Second US Stimulus Check

I believe this is not true.
If you made more in 2020, above the cut off for qualifying, then you don’t qualify.

Which year of income determines eligibility?

The most recent year on record at the Internal Revenue Service. If you’ve already filed your taxes this year, it would be 2020. If not, it would be 2019.

Just wait to file your 2020 tax return.

The only people who benefit from filing later in order to have the 3rd stimulus based off of 2019 taxes are people who earned more in 2020 or fewer dependents in 2020.

all others would benefit from filing 2020 taxes as soon as possible.

Common sense.

One would think.
I hope.

I think that’s why they are encouraging people in that situation to file ASAP. Probably a lot of people had big drops income for 2020.

Any reason?
All that paperwork involved?
If math is correct, that’s $2500 for three stimulus checks per child. A new scooter.

In total for 3 kids:

S1: 500 x 3 = 1500
S2: 600 x 3 = 1800
S3: 1400 x 3 = 2200

$5,500 USD

(That’s just for the kids)

Add in 1 parent:

S1: 1200
S2: 600
S3: 1400

$3,200

Altogether = $8,700 USD

Anyone NOT receive their kids 2nd stimulus?
Mine still haven’t come. Any idea if I need to file something?
Hopeless getting through on a phone to the IRS.

I haven’t. My plan is to apply for whatever the rebate is when I file my 2020 taxes if I haven’t gotten it by April 1

I just had my taxes done. That is the way to do it. Takes the fun out of it, but hey, a dollar is a dollar even when it’s really only 70 cents.

I went to file my 1040 on FreeTaxUSA but couldn’t finsish the process as it has no field for a foreign address.
So I tried creating an account in an optional IRS recommened e file company but it won’t let me create an account as my email address is already being used by FreeTaxUSA.
Looks like I’m stuck
Any advice please…

AFAIK, there are no online tax services that let you file as an expat. Every time, I’ve had to print forms out and mail them back Stateside.

H&R Block does.

This is allowed claiming Foreign income tax exclusion?

Turbo Tax does. I did it online all the way up till I was married 2 years ago. Now I file a paper version, because I haven’t gotten the wife an ITIN yet. Didn’t actually know she needed one until the other day when I looked it up.

If you qualify I recommend using the IRS free file otherwise Turbotax will make you upgrade to the deluxe version for the Foreign income exclusion.

gimme the money. if this is socialism call me comrade!

yes. I have used them for many years now. No problems.

Ill have to look how to do this, for whatever reason I’ve had problems with this.
