Sell and buy controlled items

The sale of tobacco and alcohol is controlled, there are restrictions on the display and certain warnings must be attached.

But for sure you can on sell small quantities if you wish.

I didn’t notice anything that says you can’t, but it seems it’s illegal to advertise it online.

Nah, it’s probably just that: advertisement, points of sale and buyer’s age restrictions. However I never heard the term “controlled item”, it could be a @tando thing.

But we like @tando and her thighs.

Who’s advertising and what are they selling that started the query?

There are items that are restricted to certain people or needs, such as drugs, for example.
Legal drugs can either be bought over-the-counter or with a prescription from a medical doctor (which makes them controlled). Illegal drugs cannot legally be manufactured, bought or sold.

It’s illegal to buy them without a prescription, and I would presume to sell them if you’re not a licensed pharmacist, so that would be out, sure. A licensed pharmacy could put an ad here.

Therefore,

Correct?

Huge gray areas though. So many prescription drugs are sold OTC here, including psych meds, which is illegal but zero enforcement.

I think it’s kind of hard to say in general. We’d have to look at the specifics. Basically, if there’s some reasonable legal avenue for it, and no overriding safety concerns or anything, it should be ok.

I won’t even try to start thinking about whether stuff is enforced or not. If something’s down explicitly in black and white I’ll go with that.

There you have it, @tando

I thought this kind of posts are advertisements.
