Nah, itâs probably just that: advertisement, points of sale and buyerâs age restrictions. However I never heard the term âcontrolled itemâ, it could be a @tando thing.

There are items that are restricted to certain people or needs, such as drugs, for example.
Legal drugs can either be bought over-the-counter or with a prescription from a medical doctor (which makes them controlled). Illegal drugs cannot legally be manufactured, bought or sold.
Itâs illegal to buy them without a prescription, and I would presume to sell them if youâre not a licensed pharmacist, so that would be out, sure. A licensed pharmacy could put an ad here.

Huge gray areas though. So many prescription drugs are sold OTC here, including psych meds, which is illegal but zero enforcement.
I think itâs kind of hard to say in general. Weâd have to look at the specifics. Basically, if thereâs some reasonable legal avenue for it, and no overriding safety concerns or anything, it should be ok.
I wonât even try to start thinking about whether stuff is enforced or not. If somethingâs down explicitly in black and white Iâll go with that.
