Question for a friend here (not me unfortunately lol.) Is it possible to sell a house in Taiwan through an agent of some kind if one is not physically present here?
As a guess, i would say yes.
Just like filing taxes for someone else. You just need to fill out the paperwork for transferring “rights” of selling the house.
You are located in Taiwan (right?), so just walk into any Sinyi or YungChing Real Estate branch and ask them. They would love to get that 3% commission on the sell-side.
The seller is supposed to fill out a form at the relevant TECO/etc. and pay to get his/her signature certified. Selling real estate is one of the types of action requiring specific authorization listed in Art. 534 of the Civil Code.
