So, I tried to post a letter to Spain. The lady at the chashier just gave me a bog standard stamp and told me to put it in the box.
Surely that isn’t right?
I sent a letter back to England years ago, and I remember they like put a sticker on the envelope and put it in a special box behind the desk.
Am I right in that the moron cashier was going to get me to put my envelope–addressed to spain and mentioned three times to her that it’s for Spain–right into the domestic letter box?
Turns out, that was wrong. The second post office I’ve gone has said I need to do an online registration to get a letter sent abroad.
Why didn’t she just say that instead of almost getting me to drop my international letter into the domestic one? Is it just because they’re thick as pig shit, or can’t be arsed to deal with it?
Also there is other option to send letter without stamp and no registration fee , but the Post office will paste a small sticker , something like this:
I have a further question related to posting abroad. I am new to the Island. I went to the post office to ask for express registered delivery of a letter to France. They gave me a number and qr code and said to follow this.
Since checking it a couple of days later it appears it is just registered and not express.
Please could someone advise how many days this may take in ‘reality’… I was hoping it would arrive within 5 with express! But now as only registered? What are most peoples experiences?
When I have sent things to the UK registered, the quickest has been 4 days and the longest was 2 weeks, but on average it takes about a week. I would assume France would be around the same as the UK.
I have one last question. The tracking is supposed to continue while in the destination country but nothing is showing in the tracking since the letter left Taiwan on 15th March. Has anyone else had this problem but the letter still arrives? As you can tell I’m quite nervous about the letter arriving!
