Setting incoming emails with Hotmail account- Problem-Help

My hotmail account displays emails in alphabetical order. It’s a pain. For example, if I get an email from Zoe X, it will be at the end of all the messages in my inbox. This means that I have to look at every page in my inbox in order to read new messages. In other words, if I have many messages, and I do, the new messages only show on the first page of my inbox if alphabetically possible. I can’t browse ever pages in my inbox to see new emails EVERY TIME. That’s not practical.

My Yahoo account is different. Newer messages are at the top, and older messages are at the bottom.

I tried every options I could try, and no solutions available. Help would be appreciated. There has to be a way to set it up so that newer emails are at the top, and older emails are at the bottom and in subsequent pages. My wife’s hotmail account works well that way. Why is my account so annoying?

I wish it helped, MC, but it doesn’t. I don’t have that option with my account. I tried with IE and Firefox, and all I get for options is “ascending” and “descending”. If someone can tell me how to post an image of what I see on my account like you did, I can show you.

Make a screenshot with the “alt + Print Screen” key (it’s located somewhere in the upper right corner of your keyboard) paste it with “ctrl + v” in paint or some other image editor and save it. Go to tinypic.com to upload your picture and post the url here, to make the pic directly viewable in your post you can use tags.

Oh yeah… and it might also be wise to edit out some private stuff on the picture like I did.

Edit: I just realized I forgot I signed up to the windows live mail beta, thats why my mailbox interface looks different from the old hotmail one.

Edit2: I just found a random pic of the old hotmail interface on the interwab and edited it :stuck_out_tongue:

Just click on the word ‘date’ as indicated above and it should sort it by date

I feel a bit silly now… That was just too easy! I sent myself an email from a couple different email addresses and it’s fixed now. I’ve been putting up with this for nearly a year with this account! :noway:

Sometimes even the most simplest things can be hard if you don’t know how it’s being done.

Or you can do what I do and only have friends with names beginning with ‘A’. Then their emails are always easy to find.

But at least you’ll never have to see any email from big fluffy people. Especially the ones called Matthew. :smiley:
