I’m a master student in Kaohsiung. I want to buy a vehicel to use during 2 years in Taiwan. Yesterday i found a nissan sentra 1.6 in Tainan. This only 35.000.
Everyone can give me advice should i buy this old car, how to check and experience using car in Taiwan?

You will need to pay an 11k registration fee each year in order to legally operate the vehicle. In addition to bi-annual smog checks that costs 300 each time. And of course car insurance. Check the car’s repair history if possible and have a mechanic examine the car before buying.

Thank you. Maybe can i ask you more question? In Taiwan, how about the fee when i using freeway?
Depends on where you are. If traveling from Taipei to Taichung, I think it costs around 150 NT. But if your route doesn’t pass through any of those toll scanners, then you won’t pay anything.
