Site Problem: REPAIR TABLE BUG (The DEBUG MODE Problem)
How about deleting the first five years? While storing them on DVD or summat for your own use…

Who actually searches and posts back that far?
One of the things that distinguishes Forumosa from other Taiwan discussion forums is the size and depth of the discussions. If you wanted to get an idea of what living in Taiwan was like 5 years ago, you can get a sense of things here. So it doesn’t seem to be in our interest to archive old discussions in the way you suggest.

Now who would actually search and post that far back? I probably won’t, although I have on occasion searched for something that I thought someone said about something long after the fact (but not back to 1998)

On that note: I’ve sometimes wondered about the Gravedigging Rule, where we aren’t supposed to resurrect old discussions. Why not? We also encourage people to search before they post and discourage asking questions that were asked before. What if they were asked LONG ago? :idunno:
