I want to buy a slow cooker like I had back home. Where you can toss in a meat and some veggies and let it cook for 4 hours. I’m finding similar things here but not the same.
Like these:
These go to like 1,000 Watts on high, and don’t give a wattage for the lowest setting.
Apparently HIGH on a slow cooker is usually only 200, and half that on low. I doubt these things go that low.
I could use one anyways, and cook much faster, but at that point I may as well use a pot on the stove.
I found a dedicated slow cooker
but it goes to 70-80C. Apparently a US cooker is usually 85-90C on low and 150C on high
Then there’s the expensive multicookers that do pressure cooking and a million other things.
From 大潤發 (RT Mart), less than 1000nt forget the exact amount. Couldn’t tell you anything about wattage or power, but I use it to slow cook broth for like 6 hours on the low setting and my girlfriend uses it to make 滷肉飯.
I had an instantpot in canada that i loved. Pressure cooker was great for dried beans or frozen meat, slow cooker was nice for all sorts of stuff. I basically didn’t use the other settings, maybe saute for meat and onions if I was slow cooking chili
I did! But as long as Costco keeps refunding me each time it tries to catch fire, it’s fine by me. I’m on my third one now.
I’ve never used the slow cooker function though. IIUC, Instant Pots aren’t the best for that (as in, it’s a compromise like with the other functions such as sous vide).
That’s the exact one I have, got it at an everything store as you mentioned (called 好朋友 in my neighborhood). I’ve used it for years, mostly for making stew and chili. Toss in the ingredients and go–come back in a few hours to a house that smells delicious
