Anyone know of a company, local (Taipei) that sells small wind/solar units?
I know of a company here in Tainan, I’ve visited their shop a couple of times, that sells various solar power units and fixtures.
Very good quality stuff. I believe its made in the USA.
If you would like I could stop by and see if they have a shop where you are.
Where are you?
Location: Ying ge
Gesundheit!
I saw solar water heaters on sale in a shop on the main street (the one that goes up hill from the railway station) in Yangmei Town in Taoyuan County.
Judging by the view from the freeway, solar water heaters are popular in Zhanghua County.
Wind generators can be seen along the coast of Taoyuan County near Taoyuan (formerly CKS) Airport.
(p.s. Before some know-it-all chimes in, I do know the difference between a solar water heater and a solar panel!)

I have seen solar stuff at Guang Hua Market. Panels etc and some small educational type kits too.
Cool, where is this market?

On the south side of Civic Boulevard, west of the Xinsheng North Road intersection. Nearest MRT stop: Zhongxiao Xinsheng. The market’s previous location has been demolished and it is now located in a group of single-storey prefabricated units.
One of the best “home” wind units I’ve seen so far.
You guys amaze me. Thanks so much

Well yeah, but the specific place I am referring to is not one of those prefabs.
Right on the corner of Bade/XinSheng is a curved wall of bottles (no shit) which has some seating in front.
If you go to the left of that, you’ll see a set of stairs down to a basement.
Go down to B1, and on your left is a huge store. Head to the back/right of it, where all the tools etc are. You will find the kits there, and the bigger panels are above the counter nearby.
Another store that has MORE kits is the one on the same floor but opposite side. If you walk around you will see some decent speaker cables etc on rolls near the door. It’s always crowded in there. Go to the left and you will find an aisle with tools. on the right side of that aisle are the kits all hanging up.
JD I know you said Taipei, but how about a fellow Formumosan from Taidong?

This is impressive, doubly so because it happens to be the terrace next door to one I lived in around 15 years ago. Given the paper thin walls, I was kept awake nightly by the chick my ex and I dubbed the cat woman for all the cat-like noises she made while shagging, which almost always involved threesomes with her outrageously gorgeous female flatmate and whatever chap was lucky enough to join that party.
How green is my terrace?
