South Korea opens 24-hour won trading

Since the question comes up from time to time why the Taiwan dollar is not tradable 24/7 and outside Taiwan, here is a good breakdown for South Korea, which tries to reopen 24/7 forex trading again:

Why is 24 hours needed, could set once a day. No need to be casino like 24 hours.

24 hrs forex would enable South Korean stocks to join the MSCI developed world indexes and move a lot more money into the country. Don’t think it will happen for Taiwan anytime soon though.

Interesting!

I didn’t know that the lack of 24h currency trading is one of the reasons Taiwan and South Korea don’t count as “developed” countries in the eyes of the MSCI index.
