This launch had a heavy load with multiple orbits to achieve, so the center core had to go much higher than previous cores. The landing barge had to be placed twice as far away from the coast than previously. Due to high entry force one engine was damaged. It wouldnāt be able to land anywhere.
Bloody good job anyway.
The mission was to deploy all satellites. This was achieved.
Landing the boosters and center core are just nice to have for lowering the overall cost.
Elon Musk transformed the rocket science with a new approach. Now even the stubborn ESA is going reusable. Their argument was that having a few launches a year and using a reusable rocket would make their engineers to be out of work most of the year
