Special Massage/spa in Zhonghe district?

Are there special massage/ spa in Zhong he District? How to find them and price?

What kind of speciality are you looking for?

In the meantime, I´ll go grab some popcorns.

Like oil massage and body scrub. Not the traditional massage like they try to crack every bone and fold you in half.

Probably just go on google maps and type in 按摩. Check out the places and judge from the pictures and reviews.
The one where they brake your bones is Thai Massage 泰式按摩. You want 精油按摩(please correct if I use the wrong Chinese here) Aroma oil massage.

There should be a lot of places popping up on maps.

Oh okay. I am afraid of mistakenly going for boys spa. :joy:

Which one were you looking for?

I don’t like massages, but I know people who do and I believe most (95%+) places advertising as “massage” are entirely legit. I would guess it’s pretty easy to tell - genuine spas make an effort to look upmarket with their decor precisely because they don’t want people getting the wrong idea.

I am just googling for spas near Zhong he district. I guess I will have to go and see the place. I saw a post that there are boys spa like for lgbt. As long as it is not boys spa, I would be happy to experience. Isn’t it illegal or very limited happy ending spas here in Taiwan?

Just keep an open mind. Then you will be happy no matter where you end up.

I have quite the opposite impression. I find Thai massage very soft and relaxing.

There’s plenty of dodgy spas in Taiwan, typically they say Thai massage and whole body oil massage . You can tell by what the staff are wearing in many cases.

But most spas here are just legit too even many of the whole body oil massage places.

That would not have been my first guess

What about the knife massage place in that mall underneath Civic Boulevard adjacent to Taipei Main Station? I realize it’s not in Zhonghe, so perhaps my post is off base. But I’m still waiting for a forumosan to give this a try and report back.

Hat tip to @tempogain for first alerting me about this unique business.

I received a knife massage once. Followed by a woman moving iron rocks (they say they’re meteorites but they’re not) around my head.

My body survived, but my hope for humanity died at the spot. Nah, I’m joking, I didn’t have any hope left way before that.

OP if you’re a woman, you may want to go to Being Spa or go find a spa in hotels like Grand Hyatt.

I don’t think it’s a frequent occurrence, but I remember a news story about a male masseuse raping a female client in one of those small no name brand places.

Thank you for taking one for the team.
