I have no idea if this kind of thing exists anywhere in the world, let alone in Taiwan, but am curious.
Is there such an insurance plan where you pay in, but only get a payout if you actually become pregnant and or give birth to a baby? I suppose premiums would be less for unmarried, older women.
I’m not talking about general health insurance, which covers pregnancy costs.
That covers medical costs during and after pregnancy. The OP is looking for a single cash payout for getting pregnant/giving birth. Kind of like a reverse life insurance death payout.
Underwiting most of the Insurance , certainly in the West, is done by Lloyds of London. Almost any "policy"would be underwritten by a large Company, who employ actuaries to evaluate the risk of payment. Much like betting. Insuring against a likely outcome, normally proves to be prohibitively expensive.
Rather like a heavy smoker insuring against Cancer.
Used to have policies available in the UK , to insure against “Loss of driving license”, until every drunk in the land took out the policy.
I am sure you can upgrade your NHI contributions or get additional cover , to get better Medical and choice , and Childbirth would be included, I imagine.
Best of Luck
