His management could be building up a first 15 fights by first round KO type of sales pitch. I hope not.

I would think his dad wouldnā€™t let them jerk his son around like that. He does look good for all those 16 seconds but itā€™s not much to go by. Itā€™s at least positive to see he has the mentality to come out strong on his pro debut.

Holyfield senior is short of cash, I believe? Too many divorces.

There was a time when I wasnā€™t completely cynical about boxing. I wish I could go back to then.

I donā€™t blame you. I prefer boxing over MMA, but UFC is just a better product in terms of entertaining the fans.

I feel that UFC is like boxing 40 years ago.

A woman who was treated for breast cancer a year ago has become the first person to swim across the English Channel four times non-stop.

Sarah Thomas, 37, began the epic challenge in the early hours of Sunday and finished after more than 54 hours.

Ms Thomas - who completed her treatment in 2018 - dedicated her swim to ā€œall the survivors out thereā€.

The swim was due to be about 80 miles but because of strong tides Ms Thomas ended up swimming closer to 130 miles.

I guess this isnā€™t a particular sports feat, but a very special player has shown up in the NFL this season, Baltimore Ravensā€™ quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson is the most gifted running back currently playing in the NFL. He benefits greatly in that he doesnā€™t have to block. Even so, I havenā€™t seen a running back break ankles like this since Chris Johnson (on occasion) or especially Barry Sanders.

Hereā€™s just one example, but there are many. Kā€™Waun Williams makes this tackle for a living, but not this time.

Really special, elite NFL quarterback who also just happens to be the best running back in the NFL. Amazing.

This guy is amazing.

Just do it.

That reminds me:

Jim Thorpe grew up with adversity. As a Native American in the early 1900ā€™s, he faced racial prejudice and a difficult upbringing. His twin brother died at age 9. His mother and then father died just a few years later. He became an orphan.

So when somebody stole his shoes right before he was set to compete in the Olympics, it was probably no big deal to Jim. He simply put on two other shoes that someone had tossed in a trash can. They were different sizes, though, so he had to wear extra socks on one foot to even them out.

He went on to win two Gold medals, but that only touches the surface of what he did in those games. He won gold in the (now defunct) pentathlon, winning four of the five events (long jump, discus throw, sprint, and wrestling). The one event he didnā€™t win was the javelin. Heā€™s never competed in that event for the Olympics. He finished third in the world.

Najiah, a Native American of Paiute and Klamath ancestry who hails from tiny Arlington, Oregon (population 586), is in her fourth season on the Mini Bull Riders tour, the junior version of the PBR for kids aged 8 to 13.

Najiah recently landed her first endorsement (the first endorsement, as it happens, for any rider on the Mini Bull Riders tour) when Ariat bootsā€”a major and longtime sponsor of PBRā€”signed her.
