Why are you more interested in how the monster is being seen than his the child victims are doing? Definition of PC and I have little time or patience for it.

Bye
idk what PC means but i think its rather odd to get upset over a statement that had nothing to do with you. i suppose this is the internet nowadays. and I know how the victims are doing, im reading the news…
but have whatever conclusion you like i suppose
It doesn’t fit a sociopath’s MO. A sociopath is amoral but they’re still calculating and wouldn’t stab strangers, if because they don’t want to go to prison if nothing else. They are definitely into self-preservation.
What a terrible story.
I’m inclined to say: no third chance for this guy. Enough!
Guy
EDIT: 11yr. old girl that was stabbed in the chest and was in the ICU is now in stable condition!
CCTV footage has been released showing the man attacking the the other 11yr. old girl. He was riding around on his scooter, saw the girl standing on the side of the road, turned around and stopped to grab her and started to attack her and the girl ran away and the assailant got on his scooter and rode away to a nearby convenience store and continued his rampage…
This girl had laceration wounds on her chest and elbow.
The other man that was stabbed was hurt while trying to help after hearing a kid screaming for help.
Absolutely horrific.
It is the internet. Do you see your gaslighting? How do you know I’m upset?
You decided to talk about mental health issues in general in a thread about little kids who got stabbed by a nutter. Then you got defensive about being called out about it.
I guess you think you’re adding depth to the conversation but really you’re showing zero empathy for the victims. Imagine saying, “Most people with mental health issues aren’t violent,” To those kids and their parents as they wait in the hospital holding a bag of bloody clothes they need to turn over to the cops as evidence.
You sound upset. I noticed you misinterpreted her statement about the guy likely not being mentally ill but simply violent. After explanations your responses only seem to be escalating.
oh i thought it was psychopathic tendencies that are careful about not getting caught, maybe i’m mistaken. you’re probably right, but alas i’m no psychiatrist.
I suppose yours is quite reasonable in your mind, right next to whatever sound you’re hearing. lol
but I suppose this IS the internet where two people can’t have a conversation because every jack rabbit wants to bounce in.
Just calling em like I see em! Yep, that is how this works lol.
respectfully, a difference of opinion is not gaslighting. and since this is our first time interacting, i dont really have the power to gaslight you since we have no relationship/connection.
I suppose if i started my comment with “thoughts and prayers” that would be better? even though those three words often do little for victims of violent crimes after the fact. trust me, i know.
but clearly you have some trauma/emotion associated with this kind of thing so im going to throw in the towel on this one.
It seems that he has a history of violence. If that’s not mental illness, why not? I took her speculative comment as a deflection. So, no, I don’t believe I misinterpreted anything. And while at the time I was
Unaware of his violent history, floating the idea that he was “just” violent seemed, to me, to be out of place.
Then don’t say that I seem upset. lol
That doesn’t make you special, you know.
As for thoughts and prayers, nah. What I objected to was you saying maybe he just violent and not mentally ill. I’d love for you to clearly tell me what the difference would be in this case where a man stabbed little kids with zero warning. Why do you think this situation is violent but not indicative of mental illness?
And again, you seem to like to gaslight. Given as you said we don’t know one another, this also seems like a defensive snark.
Mental illness is a pretty broad term, so whatever he suffers from (bloodlust?) must fall under it.
one article said he got a psych evaluation 10 years ago and determined he knew right from wrong and was fit to stand trial.
fwiw, which I guess isn’t much.
Maybe split this thread to a discussion of mental illness and opinions about it
But the discussion here is mental illness in the context of someone who was violent toward innocent bystanders. I’m not sure this should be split into an existing topic or a new topic. In the case of an existing topic, the thread I’m aware of has to do with how to address the issue of mental illness in an effort to be cured.
Anybody know what specific mental illness he was diagnosed with ?
I was down with the inlaws in Miaoli but didn’t bring this topic up, a bit depressing.
A similar case happened in Dublin last year. Certain people want to get at kids, I don’t know if it’s an antisocial thing or the easiest target thing.
There was another case in London also , with a schoolboy with mental illness killing children. Don’t know if these people suffer from different kinds of mental illness or the same kind?
Chiu, 48, has been charged under the Child and Juvenile Welfare and Rights Protection Act and the Criminal Code, including two counts of attempted murder of children, one count of attempted murder, and public endangerment, the Miaoli District Prosecutors Office said in a news release on Tuesday.
yeah he literally attempted murder once before this incident, if he gets anything short of a life sentence, I’ll be shocked
The assailant has been given a 29yr. sentence. He can still appeal.
Probably would’ve gotten a lot less if he had just used a car to attack people instead.
