Stoic Logic

If pigs fly, then pigs have wings.

Antecedent: Pigs fly (false)
Consequent: Pigs have wings (false)

This is a true conditional statement according to Stoicism.

The only statements that are false are when the antecedent is true and the consequent is false.

TT: True statement
TF: False statement
FF: True statement
FT: True statement

Uh huh, if P then Q.

Ok. :+1:

P→ Q

P

So, Q.

Not sure where you’re going with this.

Stoic didn’t say PQ.

They said:

If first, then second.

First, therefore second.

That is what this means

If is key to the logic.

At the risk of me not minding my Ps and Qs, that’s the whole fucking point.
