Storage facilities

Thanks!

Here is another one. They were handing out flyer outside of MRT station:

For 180x180x280, they charge NT$2600/month. 50% off if you prepay for a year. I consider this price to be ridiculously high. If you need more space, should be better off renting an apartment at some rural location.

By Dankang do you mean Tamkang University in Danshui?
I’m moving there soon to do my bachelor’s and I haven’t found a place to live.
Please send me a message with information if its really TAMKANG you’re talking about.

Yes its the same university. They have cheap student flats for only 2000nt a month (it’s actually 12,000nt a semester). just explain to the landlord that you do not have enough for a whole semester and they will usually let you pay by the month. I can help you with the negotiation if you like.

Self serviced storage units are now spreading in Hong Kong. I found an 8’ square locker for only US$30 a month. So, if they’re fairly new there, Taipei will get them eventually. Having said that, my Taiwanese friend said she knows where. Maybe I’ll followup when I get that information. Cheers

I’m planning to leave Taiwan for a period of 6-12 months.

Is there a storage service that will store your household goods for a period, at the end of which, you can either take them out of storage, or have them sent on to you in the country you are now living in. I’m sure I’ve read this being discussed in the past, but a search has failed to turn up any posts.

Ask Steven the mover. He has storage service.

Thanks Icon.

Bump. A friend asked if I knew anywhere. Taipei area.

One person told me a year or so back there are places in Taiwan that offer this service at very reasonable rates. He stored his stuff in Taoyaun. They came up to Taipei to pick the stuff up.

Any ideas?

I know someone who owns a personal storage space company in Taipei. Pm me and I’ll get you in touch with her.

Not sure how old this information is, but I knew I had it in my bookmark folder…

Give them a look, might be what you are looking for.

That’s my friend!!

So why a PM unless you want part of the cut…

A reference to a person who runs a business that you can find with a decent google search is not worthy of a cut of profits, but then again in Taiwan everyone is looking for a NT…

I wanted to give him my friend’s email address so to contact her directly and possibly get a discount through me, which is exactly what happened to me recently when looking for a place to leave my cat over the holidays. Jeez…

I just stumbled upon these self-storage places:
