student ARC

Hi-I am interested in studying Chinese in Taiwan and getting the ARC after 4 months leading to Health Insurance after 6 months. I don’t fully understand the rules. I see some rule about not missing more than 10 hours / month of classes. Ok. I also saw some mention of not leaving Taiwan during the 4 month ARC qualification period?

While studing, can I enter and re-enter on 90 day landing visas and still qualify for the ARC / health insurance? I would like to spend a couple of days in Hong Kong every month.

Or do I need to stay in Taiwan, not leaving at all, for 4 or 6 months? In which case I would need a renewable student visa? Or is there a multi-entry student visa that would allow trips outside of Taiwan without resetting the 4-6 month clock?

Are the student visas easy to get in Hong Kong?

Thanks

You get an ARC, you should stay here for 4 months in a visitor visa for the purpose of study mandarin.

At least you meet requirements such as attendance, you can visit HK etc during the 4 months to get an ARC.

You can/must enroll National Health Insurance after you live here for 6 months on the visitor visa and ARC. The 6 months should be continuous, or net 6 months with one trip abroad not exceeding 30 days. If you go to abroad twice, the 6 month clock restarts from the entry before your last trip.

If you prepare everything as required, getting the visa should be easy.
