Studying Mandarin in Hualien/Taitung

Hi,

New to the boards. Have been working in mainland China for several years, but am taking a break from job prior to grad school. I’d like to do some intensive mandarin either at a language school or w/ a private tutor with good references and I want to be on Taiwan’s east coast (e.g. Hualien). Does anyone have any insight into tutors or programs around these parts?

Looking for: 4 weeks, M-F private or small group classes, 4 hours a day instruction in Hualien or Taitung. Want to spend less than US $1500 on instruction or less than US $2000 rent +instruction

I’ve never studied here, so don’t know any details. But I know of someone who did a semester or 2 with them.

Yes, thank you I am aware of this school but am they only offer semester long courses or a winterim w/ unfeasible dates. At any rate, I will write them an email to inquire about private instruction availability in the area. If your friend has faculty contact info, that would be quite useful.
