No two ways about it. I’m a big guy. Fat, and even if I wasn’t I’m still large,about six foot, fairly wide shoulders etc.
For the life of me I cannot find a suit that fits, shirts are also a nightmare! They always pinch the shoulders constrict the biceps and chest! I even had one tailored out of desperation and, same problem.
Where do you fellow big guys of Forumosa buy your suits? I’d like to get one of those ones which stretch for extra comfort since I’m quite particular about that 
Tailors aren’t expensive. I got a suit, tie and 3 custom shirts for 15g’s at a little shop not too long ago. Give that a shot. I get my shorts expanded for my fat arse at a local seamstress’ shop as well.
Tailor is the best option. A good one could make you look slimmer in a suit too.
There’s no other way for you than bespoke or made to measure at a tailor. Tailored suits are relatively cheap in Taiwan as labor costs are low. And I even think the fabrics imported aren’t that expensive with lower import duty and VAT than western countries. They also don’t mark it up as much.
Italian fabrics are expensive in Italy after that 22% VAT.
I’m not overweight but I have a similar issue. I’m tall with long limbs, wide muscular shoulders and a tiny waist. Nothing that fits me at the shoulders and sleeve length even comes close to fitting the rest of my body. I’m 205-210lbs but I have to keep a belt on to keep my 34 size pants from falling.
If a tailored suit or shirt doesn’t fit just bring it back and have it altered.
Maybe he means he had a suit tailored but didn’t fix the issue. There’s only so much tailoring can do.
A bespoke shouldn’t do that at all or you should refuse to pay unless they make something that fits right. Made to measure should also fit pretty well but not quite like a bespoke.
Clothing is a problem in Taiwan as they assume you’re all skinny. They have special shops for plus size but I would think a tailor should be able fix you something that fits exactly.
