Supermarket lineup etiquette?

Hey all,

Why do Taiwanese people leave their carts and baskets in the line, in the exit, and in the way of everyone else?

I’m constantly putting away carts and baskets and losing my spot in line, out of respect for the cashiers and other customers. It boggles the mind.

At the Wellcome I usually go to, there’s no good place to put the carts, unless you want to go all the way back to where you got them. Stupid layout and a one-way gate that the carts can’t go through.

Second idearat there.
At the local Carrefour, there is no cart collection space so you would have to wheel the cart to the entrance.

If you only have 2 bags or so, most people just abandon the cart.

The worst is Costco where people leave abandoned carts everywhere.

Because they don’t care.

You incorrectly used the word “etiquette” with referring to how things are done in Taiwan.

No, that’s not true. There is a lot of “etiquette” in Taiwan; just not with newfangled modern things like shopping carts!
