I’m having a drink with a very intelligent Gen Z chap. He’s never heard of Bob Dylan.

I’ve always thought Dylan overrated, but such a cultural icon. Does he not watch TV or movies? I suppose that would be the intelligent thing to do these days

I can see how he’d be completely irrelevant to a zoomer. From where though?

Finally. Something good about Gen Z.

I generally don’t like his voice, but the lyrics are outstanding. The song about the boxer is exceptional.

I remember Dylan being pretty big in the UK. I guess it kind of comes down to what your interests are?
Yeah, I suppose so. It still surprised me.
Did you ask what kind of music he was into?
No, I didn’t. Presumably something young and Scottish. Lewis Capaldi or something similar.
Wait…I thought you said he was intelligent.

I do like that one, shame it had to be Dylan singing it
Anyways, there is also this, for example

I’m a millennial and have only heard of Bob Dylan after moving to the US, but only in name. I have no idea what he is famous for.

only good thing of Dylan was the song Jimi Hendrix made even so much better, AATW

He was a famous doo-wop crooner.

Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey and Post Malone are writing current popular poetry set to music today.
Have you heard of them?

Key artist from 60s music and counter culture. You might recognize some of his songs because youve heard them so many times in movies
