He is trying to get votes for the elections this year. It’s promises for now.

I think they should give more tax relief for families having kids. Taiwan has enough surplus and low birth rate is a huge national security issue.

The most protected Taiwan is a highly productive Taiwan that’s so interwoven into the global supply chain that it’s a national security risk to lose for other countries. And that type of economy needs young talent to develop.

And it also needs future taxpayers and consumers and house buyers for all those overpriced apartments. Taiwan has its head up its own ass on this I really don’t know what they are up to. There’s even a national strategy and planning office but it seems they are just sitting around scratching the surface of everything. It’s mostly about getting investment from businesses. If you want businesses to invest you should have consumers too!

Only $5.5m allocated to the scheme, total. Failed before it began:

Unless a person earns less than the NT$29,500 minimum wage and the company implements the program for less than eight months, NT$15,000 is nowhere near enough to cover 80 percent of lost wages, Ho said.

Companies would receive a maximum subsidy of NT$100,000, which would only cover six to seven employees, she added.

Additionally, the city government’s budget can only support 55 companies,

It could be but you have to start somewhere.
To be honest without immigration this place will be so quiet.
