There is now footage on TV, not just one smoke bomb, lot of them. Looks like a high-school student.
News now says 5 people injured by knife attack.

He threw the bombs at Taipei Main Station, then moved to Zhongshan. In between he put on some kind of leg protection, which is weird.
He injured 9 people, leaving 4 in critical condition, before falling to his death.
So the guy sits in the middle of a road brandishing a huge knife and the one fucking moment Taiwanese could actually run somebody over and be useful with it they sit there and don’t move an inch. Pathetic.

Really sad to see the video of this incident – I hope the stabbed victims will all recover.
I was hoping someone would use their car or mount some sort of resistance. Everyone just watched from what I could tell…
I know it is obviously a crazy experience if you are actually in it, and it is easy to sit back and judge others who were in it for not seeming to do anything. Really too bad a car or scooter didn’t just take the guy out.

Why does it feel like this stuff is going to start happening more and more often. I hope some sort of motivation gets revealed. Such a coward to kill yourself afterwards.

Exactly. But still, in a life and death situation you gotta think fast. Those people driving were basically the only ones capable of doing anything, what did they do? probably got their phone out to film it.
Whats worse if it was some innocent on the road they would have been mowed down without hesitation.
And lets wait and see if he is dead or not. The eslite in zhongshan is only like 5 floors high or something.
