I stupidly reset my cable modem router because it was acting strangely only to find the default username and password aren’t ‘admin’ and ‘admin’ like they usually are on a wireless router. Does anyone happen to know what they are for a TaipeiNet router?
tried admin and password?
Yeah. User, root, password, admin. They’ve really gone for a uncommon choice.
What about your telephone number?
I’ll give it a try!
I’d suggest checking the complete name / model number of the router (maybe on a label together with barcodes etc.), then googling that name. Chances are you find lots of PPT threads talking about the passwords etc.
The weird thing is since I reset the router, it’s now appearing as two networks. One is the network with a new name that is the name appearing on a sticker in the modem that has no wifi password to connect to. The other has the network’s name from before I reset the router but with a new and unknown password. I managed to connect to the network with the original router SSID by plugging an Ethernet cable into the laptop and router but still no luck accessing the router settings.
