Taiwan 2013 Salary and Employment Forecast

There seems to be a lot of conjecture on this board about salaries across a range of industries in Taiwan. A survey conducted by Michael Page International, a British headhunter, is informative. (Note English teaching is not covered)

I don’t know about this, does salary really go up for everybody with years of experience. I highly doubt it. Surely many plateau out? Still it’s a useful guide.

Deviation to be taken in account in General : 15% give nand take. Can be as high as 25% for sought after unique profiles / Talents.

While the census was conducted with EuroCham by MP only being here since 1 year ,more reliable “internal” numbers used by other Headhunters being in this market for +10 years are giving some different insights>

Seniority / leadership / ENGLISH capability and many other factors

2 categories in which functions are saught after and better paid than the report mentions:
FMCG / SMCG Key Accounts
Trade Marketeers.

Store staff salaries in the survey are off for Luxury goods. People with 3 years experience. English speking can make 40.000 NTD today. (as many good talents flee to China)
