I am planning to buy some items from the US tomorrow for delivery to Taiwan, and the customs fees are a bit finnicky. The items are some historical documents so, antiques. Should be up to around $1000 usd, depending which ones I win on the auction.
Now, from some digging I did, antiques are exempt from fees except a small VAT charge of 5%?
Anyone know if that is correct and has purchased antiques to the US before?
I have had fossils delivered here–value of a few hundred dollars and haven’t had to pay customs fees for those. I believe marked as geological material. But as antiques is a different ballpark, I thought it best to check that I wont get stung.
