Lots of luxury flats. Come on! The housing costs in Taipei are already a joke. What’s being done about affordable housing?
More shopping malls? With the acceleration of online shopping, this is chasing after a shrinking market. At best it will lead to cannibalizing other malls which will then close down. The exception would be restaurants and eateries which continue to do well.
I’d be more interested in fascinating projects like the Tainan Spring rejuvenation of a dead shopping mall space into something lovely and actually useful, as discussed over here:
I’d also be interesting in more greening projects, and how to make our ever-hotter cities cool down.
