Taiwan Air Force posted pictures inside one of the underground areas. Definitely rare pictures. Close up to planes so can’t really determine size of facilities.

They’ve got a lot of oil storage tanks hidden under the mountains as well. Unfortunately due to a complete lack of maintenance, most are now inoperable.

Interesting, but I’m curious about the usefulness of that. Wouldn’t destroying the attached runways/air bases render the underground hangers quite pointless?
The tunnels were built 40 years ago before China had the capability to attack the runways so yes it is now a concern.
Taiwan Air Force has special units trained specifically for runway repair. It won’t solve the problem but it will help mitigate.
