Taiwan Tax Resident or not? Which one is better?

I’m a permanent resident and I have been here over the 183 days.

Over 183 days is for every single (tax) year! Foreigners can be Taiwan Tax Residents only half of the time.
This is because Taiwan Tax office thinks foreigners can not have domicile in Taiwan unlike other Taiwanese government institutions. They say the only permanent proof for residence is a valid HHR which only Taiwanese citizens can have (APRC is not accepted).

I’m about to split off a bunch of posts from the bank tax residency certificates thread, basically everything since @Mataiou’s response from the National Human Rights Commission of the Control Yuan, because I think that the discussion has now evolved into a much broader thing than taking action against bank tax residency certificates per se. I’ll leave that thread open for any future developments/discussion about the tax certificates themselves, and I’m going to continue with my own complaints …

No, it’s the first step of complaining to E.SUN Bank as per the FOI guidelines which Mataiou confirmed. My friend has finally got his ducks in a row and submitted the complaint to E.SUN Bank yesterday (26th June 2024) with myself BCC’ed via two of their whistleblowing email addresses. As per their definition on their whistleblowing page, two employees did something against their policy. The 30 day clock is on.

Persistence (and wasting a lot of your time) might work though.
