Taiwanese Complain When Speaking English

Video a couple years old of Taiwan guy yelling to speak Chinese in Taiwan. I haven’t had any experiences like this.

The Taiwan guy also complained that he is talking too loud, in a loud restaurant.

Maybe there is some other backstory.

Crazy people everywhere.

Yep- “speak English” is a common complaint in English-speaking countries. “How come I got to push #1 for English?”
I was told to speak Greek by a guy in Iraklion. In 1972 I was on a train in Dunkirque and the conductor ignored the desperate appeals for informationfrom the British passengers until I put the question in my awful high-school French, and he answered in fluent English.
It happens.

Complete supposition, but the guy speaking English is overseas born and he said something bad about Taiwan or the Taiwanese thinking people wouldn’t understand him.

Yeah, the French and the Brits are arseholes about it. Strangely, the Germans often prefer people not to speak German. I’ve been told they don’t like to hear their language being spoken badly. The Dutch response to “Excuse me, do you speak English?” is “Of coursh.”

Had the misfortune of one of those vlogger idiots sitting at the table next to me in a restaurant once, it’s indescribably annoying as you end up being forced to listen to their inane BS no matter how much you try not to. Luckily the restaurant staff realized how much he was pi$$ing off the other customers and turned the wifi off.

The guy calling him out doesn’t sound Taiwanese though.

I hate vloggers. Always walking around, talking loudly to their selfie sticks. And most are FOB losers with a dozen followers who cling to the delusion that they’ll be the next viral superstar thanks to their ‘eating stinky tofu’ reaction video. The pandemic has a couple silver linings and seeing less of these greenhorns walking around is one of them.

The french definitely, and the Swiss esp. at Zurich airport. Until 1 time in Paris, where the shopkeeper was being a dick and didn’t think I could ask him in french how much it costs, etc. When it came to pay, I said in English, I have only currency notes from an English speaking country… will you accept that or is it french only? I think he got the message.

That fight challenger didn’t start from zero… was already at 60mph when the recording started.

There’s gotta be some context missing.

I’ve seen similar videos like this, where I knew the back story of the guy who was getting upset. Not that his actions were justified, necessarily, but there were things that occurred before the filming started that had the aggressor already in an elevated state.

(I note that video is from 2018 with very few views)

I would have sued for public insult. Wouldn’t be my first time.

Taiwanese are so polite. Bruce Lee asked if he wanted to fight, and then invited him outside. A true gentleman.

That video is beyond retarded. No beginning, no end. Just a flash of a hot head ranting. Meaningless. The main dude did say something that hinted at a bigger problem, but none was shown…is this some CCP singaporean BS again?
