There are many types of collapse. A big one us losing a war (civil or otherwise) and being conquered.

Taiwan is a vassal state. It will always be someone’s vassal state. The mere fact that it thinks that it can ever be a de facto independent nation is a pipe dream. The same with the Koreas. Geography has sealed their fate.
