Taiwan's Iconic Landmarks & Images?

What are Taiwan’s Iconic Landmarks & Images?
Ok! For Taipei, this is what we’ve got:

CKS Memorial Hall
Grand Hotel
Miramar Ferris Wheel
National Concert Hall[/quote]
Anything else that should be in the Taipei List?

What about other places in Taiwan like Taichung, Kaohsiung, Kending, East Coast, etc. I’m talking images that would be immediately recognizable to anyone with knowledge of those places.

A few to start you off:

Queen’s Head, Yeliu

Turtle Island, Yilan

Tuntex Sky Tower, Kaohsiung

The gondola thingy over at Maokong?

A few more:

Chikan Tower, Tainan

World Games Stadium, Kaohsiung

Taidong - Sansiantai

For Kending, the only iconic image that comes to mind is that lighthouse - Oluanpi?

There are some viewpoints in Taroko Gorge that are instantly recognizable, although I forget the names.

Those joined hearts in Penghu - the ones in the water, a wall or something.

Great stuff, guys! Keep it coming! :notworthy:

The giant red spike on the corner of Xinsheng and Xinhai Rd.

How could any of you not include 7-11? It was invented in Taiwan and most kids of the younger generation were born there.

Lions Club/ Rotary Club clocks.

Most of us think of this shot:

Your cool shot didn’t show. Here’s my cool shot, which includes TWO iconic Taipei landmarks.

This is a very nice thread and potentially a useful one. It’s a shame to let it disappear. Can’t it be a sticky? For people who are just visiting briefly.

Maybe it’s just my nostalgia talking
