Wouldn’t get one (mar the natural beauty of my skin? I think not. Put that shit on the wall or something). But, it’s a personal choice. I may dislike some more than others but it isn’t any kind of dealbreaker in itself.
How about a “I don’t care” option. I feel like the “meh” option is still negatively judgmental about it. I’m neutral about a couple tats. If someone has a sleeve done or have blacked out their body or had face tats or have their ex’s name tatted on them that might be different though.
So this for a potential mate? I’m not sure. My wife and I don’t have any tattoos and we’ve been together forever. I don’t care when it comes to others. It makes no difference in how I interact with someone.
As with everything, there’s a sense of proportion. One or even two tattoos on the arm or ass or wherever - not my style, but whatever. Tattoos that cover the entire back, face, chest, or arms are a different story, and full body tattoos are insanity. Having tattoos all over the place like Yakuza or bikers can actually lead to skin-related health problems like Vitamin D deficiency from lack of sunlight, increased skin cancer risk, lymph node buildup of ink carcinogens, ink blocking MRI scans, and blockage of the sweat glands. Allegedly heavily tattooed people’s skin feels cold from lack of the natural sweating process. How do you think your body would feel if you never took off your clothes, ever, and never gave your skin a chance to breathe?
My take on tattoos? I prefer scars, scars you get on adventures.
Tattoos you get in a shop, lying or sitting down, doing nothing, except for enduring pain.
Scars, however, tell a story. You have been somewhere, have experienced something (hopefully not too terrible), and you might have a cool story to tell. Live a life of adventure and you’ll get those scars. No need for ink, no need to pick your brain to think of some unique image that will never be truly uniquely yours anyway.
