TCPA really such a worry?

Is the “Trusted Computing Platform Alliance”, heavily criticised on this site;

still something to be concerned about? I’ve never heard of it before, but if that site’s analysis is correct then it’s worrying.

Companies are still doing research on such features. I personally doubt that it will happen, because it would be impossible for Linux to comply with the security and intellectual-property restrictions, and whether they like it or not (especially Microsoft, which IIRC was the first one to push the concept – no doubt in part to crush Linux), Linux is on a roll. However, it is a threat.
