I’m coming to taiwan in september and want to teach. I have A-levels in English, Politics and History but have yet to do a degree. I am also taking a TEFL course.
What’s my chances of getting a job without having a degree? Any links to go to?
Sorry mate, degree first, then job. That’s the law for foreigners in Taiwan.
Having a degree is required to get an ARC/Work permit to teach English legally in Taiwan. If you don’t mind leaving the country every few months or extending your visa through a Chinese language school, there’s no reason why you cannot teach at small buxibans or take private students. I would recommend taking a TESOL course before you come, however.
