Kurzweil stole those ideas from the science fiction greats of the 1950s and 1960s , who predicted we would have that stuff already. Folks like Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Arthur C Clarke and many others.
I know people think that AI will create positive net jobs. Assuming that’s true, there’s still an issue. People don’t have similar intelligence levels. A lot of the jobs lost could be jobs that someone on the lower end of the intelligence can do. You can’t simply assume they would be able to learn the skills required for the new jobs created.
